Get to know the island

If you are not content to spend your vacation lounging around on the beach, you may want to get out and explore Barbados. There are many ways to see the island, whether you decide to take a guided tour or rent a vehicle and set out to explore on your own.

There are several rental vehicle agencies located throughout the island if you decide to sightsee on your own terms. Cars, jeeps, motorcycles and scooters can be rented by the day or week for a reasonable fee. If you do decide to travel on your own, be sure to pick up a reliable road map and don’t be afraid to ask about which routes are best to take around the island. You may also want to inquire about which attractions and points of interest are worthwhile visiting.

There are several tour companies operating in Barbados, and each offers a different view of the island. Do your research and decide which areas of the island you would most like to see before booking a tour. The main benefit of booking a guided tour of Barbados is that you can see areas of the island that you otherwise wouldn’t if you simply stuck to the main roads.
