Unique and affordable alternative accommodations
Many travelers think that they are restricted to hotels, bed and breakfasts and resorts when it comes to booking accommodations. What they do not realize is that Barbados is full of vacation rental properties than can provide visitors with a unique and possibly even more economical travel experience.
Vacation homes are not new to the travel industry, but they are becoming increasingly popular, particularly in southern destinations. Travelers typically seek out vacation rentals because they are looking for privacy or because they are traveling with a group. Vacation homes offer the peace and quiet and serenity that may not be experienced at a hotel or resort and offer travelers the convenience of coming and going from the property as they please, without having to wait for a shuttle or for maid service to finish cleaning their rooms.
Vacation rental properties come in all sizes and price ranges. Properties range from one bedroom apartments to five or six bedroom homes and may be priced anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars per week. Renting a vacation property is still often cheaper than staying in a hotel or on a resort, particularly if you have to book more than one room. Homes are fully furnished and many are even stocked with linens, toiletries and food items. Because the vacation homes and apartments are equipped with kitchens, visitors have the option of cooking their own meals. Most properties also have barbecues and patios for outdoor dining.
If you find a vacation home that is on the beach, it may come with a few additional perks. Some vacation properties may have access to a private stretch of beach that won’t be packed with tourists. In come cases, the property may come with a private boat that visitors can use.
The one downside to renting a vacation property is that they can get booked up quickly, particularly during peak tourist seasons. You may have to book well in advance of your holiday, to ensure that you can find a suitable property in the area that you want. But once you rent a vacation home, you may never stay in a hotel again.
